According to the article, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the movie’s star, was notoriously late; on some days, he would arrive at the set up to eight hours late, forcing the team to shoot around him.
He also “made a habit of peeing in a water bottle to save time, upsetting crew members,” according to reports. Now, Johnson addressed the charges in a GQ cover story promoting the movie. He doesn’t refute them, but he does say they were overblown. He responds to the use of bottles as temporary urinals by saying: “Yeah, that happens.”Hey, I’m here,” I’ve said a thousand times. Come ask me. And I’ll be honest with you. On his lateness to sets: “Yeah, that happens too. But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s chaotic. Jake Kasdan, the film’s director, defended Johnson by claiming that the actor “never missed a day of work ever.” He’s going through a lot. He occasionally arrives late, but that’s just the way things are in Hollywood. To be honest, I’ve worked with him on three major motion pictures. He has always been fantastic to everyone on the set, in my experience.

After opening in a few regions last weekend, “Red One” brought in a meager $26 million from the 75 nations in which it was released. This Friday, it opens in theaters across the United States, with a domestic box office total of about $20 million.
